Vida del Mar

Budget for 2007

Thanks to the fine work of Al Lewis, our Treasurer, Mike Murphy and Tom Townsend, members of the Finance Committee, and Ulises Huerta, our Controller, Vida's accounting and financial control system is better it has ever been in Vida's history.  We are now using a compete accrual accounting system instead of the "checkbook style" cash accounting system that has been used since Vida's inception.

We have posted on the "Financials" page of this "Owner Information" section a Balance Sheet, Income Statement and Cash Flow statements for each month of 2006 (through November), the three critical financial statements that every organization should have, but that have never before been available for Vida.

Based on our better understanding of Vida's position and due to the significant expenses entailed in the legal restructure that the 2006 Assembly voted for the Board to complete, we are facing some financial challenges.

Treasurer Al Lewis has written a very good letter that explains where we stand and what we need in language that you don't have to be a CPA to understand.  Attached below are Al's letter as well as the Budget in pdf format (readable by all computers without the need for a spreadsheet program).

If you have difficulty understanding the budget after reading Al's letter and the budget itself, you can call Al Lewis in the U.S. at 1-951-780-7036 or email him at <alanlewis@charter.net>.
