The owners and visitors at Vida del Mar experience their own tropical paradise which includes an abundance of flowering trees, shrubs, plants, palms and vines. This inviting and relaxing atmosphere is due to the care and efforts given over the years by the gardening staff and some owners, and we gratefully acknowledge their contributions.

The 2009 Landscaping and Beautification Committee is pleased to share this impressive photo gallery of beautiful plants and trees that you see throughout the Vida del Mar landscape. Thanks and credit goes to Richard Cretcher, condo owner, who went beyond the call of duty in taking his valuable time photographing and identifying them; and, also to Reynaldo Avalos, Head Gardener. We hope this photo gallery is a source of enjoyment and a useful learning tool for Vida residents.

Plants add color and beauty, but treat them with respect and caution because some common plants may contain toxic parts which can cause health problems. Do not allow children and pets to eat berries, seeds or leaves. Be aware that Oleander, Desert Rose and Plumeria (frangipani) may cause harmful effects. Wash hands after pruning them and avoid getting the sap into open wounds, mouth or eyes. These plants are identifed by an asterisk (*) in the photos.
